Obito Uchiha first appeared in the anime series Naruto Shippuden as a mysterious masked figure. He was initially believed to be Madara Uchiha, a legendary ninja from the past.

In reality, Obito was a former teammate of Kakashi Hatake and Rin Nohara. He was presumed dead during the Third Shinobi World War after being crushed by a rock. However, he was rescued by an aging Madara and began training under him.

Witnessing Rin's death at Kakashi's hand twisted Obito's ideals and fueled his desire to create a new world without conflict through the Infinite Tsukuyomi plan. He manipulated the Akatsuki organization and instigated the Fourth Shinobi World War.

Obito's complex past and motivations made him a formidable antagonist, but ultimately, he found redemption and aided in defeating the true mastermind behind the conflict before his death.
